We left our accommodation today, and headed to Saumur, a small city on the banks of the Loire, famous for the riding stables nearby. Unfortunately (good timing this) they were closed for the next 3 days, so instead of a trip there, we'll have to amuse ourselves with some other sights (not easy, when it's raining chats and chiens). What is it with the weather? Last year, after we'd left Europe, the news was full of stories of the effects of baking heat in the UK. Now that we're back in Europe, it seems that's all history - this summer has got to be one of the coldest and wettest we can remember. So much for global warming!
